This is an opportunity to do some trail work on one of the premier wilderness loop trails in the Rocky Mountains! This is the fourth of a series of four trips that will concentrate on the Four Pass Loop, a route that goes over four mountain passes, all over 12, 000-ft., in this popular wilderness. The variety of terrain encompasses scenic forests, summer wildflowers, challenging river crossings, and spectacular views of the numerous peaks of the Elk Mountain Range. We’ll work on the section of trail around Trail Rider Pass just above the stunning and vary popular Snowmass Lake. Our camp will be at about 11,000-feet. We’ll have pack support for the tools and food/commissary equipment. On our day off, you’ll have an opportunity to explore the area, swim in a high mountain lake, climb a nearby peak or just kick back and soak up the wilderness surroundings. These trips are suitable for beginners to service trips who are in good shape. Click the map below to see a topo of the area; click the map again to enlarge the view.
