Wilderness Volunteers is devastated by the loss of Amy Chamberlain on July 4, 2005. The Amy Chamberlain Leadership Fund is created to honor the memory of a special woman who was a volunteer leader for Wilderness Volunteers. Amy's enthusiasm and outdoor skills made her a natural group leader. Her stamina and athletic ability made her a tireless worker constructing trails and rehabilitating campsites. Amy loved being outside, in the backcountry, and she invigorated the WV groups she was with by letting them see these wonderful places through her eyes.
100% of the money in the fund will go to Leadership Training, especially for people between the ages of 20 - 35. This will include training trips, Wilderness First Aid and staff seminars. Amy's legacy at Wilderness Volunteers will enable potential leaders to develop their leadership skills and continue her work of stewardship of public lands.
